Before You're Ready is where we write about starting anyway.
It's a running series about the messy middle of building a career and a life. The decisions you make without enough information. The rooms you walk into before you feel like you belong there. The work you take on before you know how to do it, and learn to do by doing it. The quiet, unglamorous business of growing into things.
We write it because most advice arrives polished, after the fact, once everything has worked out. This is the other version. Written from inside the uncertainty, while it is still uncertain.
Some of these are lessons. Some are just honest notes. All of them come back to the same idea: readiness is not a prerequisite. It is something you build on the way, usually after you have already started.
